Situation: I mounted this product on a Mossberg 500 with a wood stock, 18.5 barrel/heat shield. I wanted to build a functional combat type shotgun with a retro look. Good: Item was of great quality and very well made as all GG&G products are. Bad: Item is about 1/4 inch thick. If you at this to a pistol grip stock you will have an altered grip which will most likely be too long. If mounted on a stock it will leave a huge gap in between the stock and the trigger guard. It drives me crazy! Also, the mount doesn't match the stock perfect and leaves a slight gap in fitting and the stock bolt isn't long enough to use with out taking out the compression washer. Overall: Functional but has flaws. GG&G should make this item no more than 1/16 thick and fill in the gap between the trigger guard. If doing it again I would probably go with a different sling solution.Read full review

This piece didn't quite work out as planned.. The first thing that disappointed me was that there was no hardware.. It adds nearly 1/4" in between the action and stock.. The instructions said to reuse your factory stock bolt but it only leaves 3 or so threads to tighten into the aluminum receiver on my Wildhog setup.. I personally didn't feel that this was enough to safely and securely mount the stock without possibly damaging the action.. There was also the odd gap it left behind the trigger guard.. I opted to go with a 6 position pistol grip style stock hoping to maybe add a longer bolt to this set up to compensate for the 1/4" spacing.. This didn't seem to work for me either because it set the pistol grip uncomfortably to far from the trigger and I have rather large hands.. I'm very peculiar about how my weapons are set up.. You may love it.. It's very well made.. It just didn't work for me..Read full review

Looks great, good quality construction. Really like the limited swivel that keeps the sling from getting wound up. Had to add an extra long bolt to accommodate the extra thickness of the the swivel plate. The Mossberg is an aluminum receiver and you need a full engagement of the threads to keep it tight and not striping out on you down the road. It would be nice if the proper bolt could be included in the package or at least available separately.

Love the ergonomics of this Q.D. sling mount on my Shockwave vs the Shockwave specific GG&G sling mount. There is some file fitting needed to be done on Shockwave, this is designed for full size Mossberg 500/590 shotguns. Very worth it for the extra effort to fit to Shockwave.

Made well and doesn't interfere with my folding stock.
