New Old stock that was a known gamble going in
It is definitely NEW old stock. The box had 2007 printed on it. The box listed it as a Target Brand. I knew that it may not work going into it hoping it would be a replacement for my kitchen radio with CD player that had some buttons starting to crack. I thought I would give this a try since new ones are not available with CD players anymore and I have lots of CDs I still use. It does work and the sound is good but the antenna is not very receptive so my radio stations are fuzzy and hard to lock in. I found that 90.9 FM tuned in better at 91.1 and 91.5 FM was sometimes OK on 91.6 or 91.7. Tuning is very touchy so it is hard to get it to where I want. I knew it was a gamble and I can say I feel like I almost broke even. At this point I will probably retire it to the basement and put the previous one back since at least it tuned much better and the antenna has much better reception. Overall, if this was 2007 instead of 2024 I would probably have given it a better review.
