Better than expected
These side covers are half the price of the competitor's and look great. I would have been happy with a flat black or even just primed pcs that I would have had to finish myself, but these were already chrome and look GREAT on my 97 Virago 750. Does not fit as tightly as oem side covers..
Covers look nice and are the right size but do not fit tightly on the same way as the OEM side covers do.. will have to modify to get them to stay on my 1984 xv700.. Oem side covers have rubber around internal plastic clips to ensure snug fitment. These do not. Disappointing. This set actually FIT so I don't have to worry about buying ANOTHER set.
I've had to buy side covers for my 94 XV1100 multiple times. The original even fell off while riding and it wasn't noticed. Original covers were painted the same color as the tank and fenders. All the new pairs offered have been paintable, or were simi-chrome. These are the same simi-chrome and so far has been very durable and attractive. I guess that after enough people complained about the ease of losing them, somebody listened and corrected the design. It still stinks to have to buy a complete pair when it was always the right side cover that fell off. These covers are replacements for the originals of which both had one the attachment points that push through the rubber grommets broken off and the covers had to held on with tie downs.
