Perfect!!! well almost:)
The steering wheel is definitely better than stock, i couldn't get in the car and drive it without doing this swap. Luckily it's the wife's car. I read all the reviews before buying it and also called american retro, and they actually sent me detailed instructions with pictures an everything. I changed out the center emblem with the stock one as well. Ok you definitely need a steering wheel puller to remove the old steering wheel, and i needed it to use on the new one as well. The horn ring was no problem at all, and that seems to be the overall pain from reading everyone else's reviews. It was very simple to R & R multiple times. First install attempt: it didn't go on easy at all, i eventually had to get a HAMMER and started to smack it on. After 10 wacks with a regular hammer, i pulled the steering wheel off an checked all the splines. Nothing should ever go together this hard. I remember a customer had to clean the splines. So i cleaned each and every spline on the steering wheel and on the steering shaft. While doing that i noticed that the splines did match up, buy it looked like the center hole one the steering wheel was a tad smalled than the steering shaft. The shaft had signs of metal being worn down by the steering wheel being smacked on, i also noticed the splines seem to match up just not same diameter. After i cleaned all the splines, I took a piece of sand paped and sanded the shaft in like a buffing motion to get high spots off and just give a smoother surface. i lined up the steering wheel again, and i still had to smack the hell out of it, this time with a small sledge hammer. That puppy is not going to come off by itself, that for sure. Horn ring went on no problem and everything works as it should. American retro probably need to check their mold if they are using any or the spec's on diameter. But would I would recommend this upgrade!!

Nice but horn ring removal and installation is very difficult
The look of it is nice. The fit of the horn ring is way too tight and is impossible to rotate for removal without using a pry tool to rotate the horn ring for removal. Cant get the horn ring back on now that the wheel is installed on the car.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good, but.....The product is good but the steering ring assembly attachment is substandard. As noted in other reviews, it is extremely difficult to detach it from the steering wheel, requiring an abnormal amount of strength to detach it. I was afraid I might break the ring by using such force, but didn't. On questioning, the shipper did acknowledge that this was evident in these items. As noted, one is to push down on the ring assembly and turn it to the left, which is correct. Otherwise, it is a good product.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Retro Wheel for '57 Tbird
Replacement 15" steering wheel was shipped promptly and came carefully packaged so there was no damage. The finish of the steering wheel is as good as or better than the original steering wheel (sans wear and tear). I have yet to install the steering wheel but by inspection if looks to have the correct spline for the shaft. As mentioned in the description, the steering wheel will have to be painted to match the interior color unless you want black. One thing that was either not mentioned or I missed is that the steering wheel is made in china. This did not bother me but may be a consideration to others...Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Substandard quality
The quality is substandard relative to OE. Made in China with no apparent quality control. The wheel itself looks good, but I had to dress the spine with a small file in order to fit the steering shaft.
