I liked it...but
1st off, the book has good content. But digging deeper and my experience(s) really had me wanting more, like alot more In general, the book has info, but uts not a great "hands on book". A great example of a hands-on book would be the tenderfoot scout handbook. Teaches, explains, guides, and instructs very well, even so an 10yo can accomplish the task. This book, yes has the information, but seems to be explained by Ben Stein. Lengthy, drawn out good info. Much of it is the background and usage rather than the setup up and direct instruction. Honestly, feels like the college essay were you have 3 pages of content, but needed to stretch it out to 20 to fulfill the assignment. In my honest opinion, get more content. And thats where I say it leaves me for wanting more. Really feel like this is the classroom basics, where we learn about but don't do much of it. For those looking into a real survival book you can sink your teeth into of various skills, I highly recommend "SAS Survival handbook 3rd edition" -John Wiseman. Admitting it doesn't have the detail of every use of XYZ, but is does have many, many pictures and instructions on various survival skills from traps to plants and so on.
