What I really wanted and for only a little over $200

I purchased a Chinese tablet the CHUWI Hi10 Pro with the add on keyboard. It had attractive specifications, the iPad laminated retina display, and OK processor with great power management, dual boot to Android, for when you need to use Android and a really nice, rugged aluminum shell. Well, there were lots of things right but there were lots of things wrong. First of all the keyboard, when closed, allowed for the track pad to rub on the tablet screen. The tablet screen was made of soda-lime glass and was easily all scratched up. The laminate also came off part of the screen. The power management of the tablet made it so that powering up from sleep took over a half of a minute. The keyboard was terrible. Well, actually it was the track pad on the keyboard but while typing and even if you didn't touch the track pad, the mouse cursor would jump to other portions of the screen and typing would continue in some random location. There were more issues and I know this is supposed to be a review of the Surface Pro 2 but I just wanted to say that I purchased it to replace the CHEWI tablet. There's really only a couple of thing that I don't necessarily like about it (the thickness and the aspect ratio of the screen) but it really is a joy to use when I compare it to the thing I replaced. If you're thinking of a Chinese knock-off, think twice, a used Surface Pro 2 is a much better choice. The power management isn't that bad, either (Microsoft went through a period of pain but finally fixed it).

    Surf. Pro 3

Compared to my Dell R17 Core I7 Laptop, it seems to hang up allot on the same applications/programs I run on the Dell without issues. Have to do allot of power resets to get if out of hang mode. An additional USB port (2 total) would have been nice. Slippery to handle when not in a case do to it's larger size, would be nice with a textured back for grip. Would I buy again........no.

  • Great tablet/laptop

I bought this for 150 and was blow away by it for the price this things amazing I considered buying other 2in1 laptops in the same price range but most had weaker processors (not bad) and lower performance in general and this machines are brand new the other gavroe that won this for me was it upgradebility software wise this is a laptop technically and well you can install any OS you wany where some tablets won't boot USB OS's and well your stuck with what you have. The o e downside was it's screen is smaller than I'd like and it's wider than I'd like. But I can't complain for the price if you have the money I would get the pro 3 or pro 4

  • Microsoft Pro2 Review

Very happy with this purchased. The tablet performs great and very easy to use. I use it more then the 2nd generation IPAD I already had. It is like having a micro computer around. Only issue is that the keyboard feels too flimsy. The keyboard has flat keys and require that up type with a little force to type. Beside some minor cosmetic issue the tablet works fine. Had to download the new windows 10 OS. but that was ok. Delivery time was very fast and packaging very secure.

  • Great running Surface pro 2

After using many brands such as Dell, Lenovo, Asus, Acer, HP and Sony desktops and laptops, I decided to go with Microsoft. No more issues with missing/malfunctioning drivers. I am now using a Surface Laptop 4 as my main computer, but I wanted a tablet smaller than my Surface pro 3 that preceeded the Laptop 4. I found this old worn out looking Pro 2 and it is amazing. A fully functioning i5 with a 256GB ssd and 10.6" screen running W11!! It cost me a negligible $65 with shipping! And the battery seems to be chugging along just fine. Can't beat it.

  • Surface Pro a remarkably agile device

I can't say enough about this system. Comparing it to an iPad as I've used in the past is like trying to compare a modern sports car to a Model To Ford. It does everything my laptop does, everything my tablet did and it's far more fun. The digitizer and pen are awesome, like having a set b of drawing tools, paints, brushes and a variety of other media wherever I go. Games are killer.

  • Amazing tablet

I use the surface pro for class work and it's perfect for carrying around all day, especially with the power cover (the battery lasts me ~10 hours!) Microsoft Onenote with a stylus is perfect for handwriting notes. You can buy these cheap, and they are still amazing tablets even with the surface pro 4 out (though after using this I wouldn't hesitate buying a newer generation.) I sometimes even use this as my main computer since it gets just about anything I need done.

  • Surprisingly resilient

I was apprehensive of a seller-refurbished unit, but I wanted a Surface Gen1 or Gen2 for the longest time. Seems I lucked out, because after a bit of Windows 8.1 updates (and spinning wheels on a firmware update for hours, then getting shut down manually), everything fell back into place and has been working sufficiently for the price I've paid. I'm more than satisfied by the old little thing, as it's been running fine for the use I make of it. key things: I'm a gigantic geek - I use Linux - I uninstalled Windows - Surface Gen1 and Gen2 are decent hardware for the money and run fine with Linux

  • Good laptop for the price

Good little laptop/tablet and it can be used as a stand alone machine. Memory is a little scarce though. Try to get the higher memory units if you can. I got the 64gb one and I already have a mico sd card for additional storage.
