  • Jim’s bearing/race tool for the DIYr

Not a tool you use all the time but a must have tool for older Harleys with timken style bearings and their races. Solid build and works like a charm for removal and installation. Don’t forget shim-kit to set your end play and dead blow or brass hammer for new races. Pays for itself after a few uses and working on friends bikes alike or you can just pay the stealership if they even have a tech that knows anything pre-2010.

  • Works well. Would buy again.

Works well. I used a an old piece of shaft for a handle. Handle need only be a drift with a step or threaded fastener with a nut and a long enough shank to clear the wheel hub. If you already own a bearing driver set check to see if the handle fits. Scrape all the goo and metal chips from behind each race using a hooked piece of stiff wire before inserting tool. That space is needed for the tool flanges to seat against the back of the bearing outer race. Quality is good. I'm an experienced motorcycle mechanic.
