Great kit for aftermarket risers.
This is an aftermarket kit for installing other aftermarket risers on Suzuki's and Yamaha motorcycles. I didn't give it five stars because the studs are a little short for installing the washers and jam nuts along with the NYlock nuts, as recommended. I could only get the NYlock nuts to go on and just barely get the stud threads to make it to the plastic nylon locking part of the nut. The manufacturer suggests you use Red Loctite on the threads that go into your new risers but I used Blue Loctite instead. The stud will not vibrate out with the Blue Loctite and will be removable in the future if necessary. The Red Loctite will not be removable unless you add heat to the stud and you'll probably ruin your finish on the riser doing so. I feel the manufacturer really needed to research the motorcycles intended for this kit to be used on a little more thoroughly, so the customer doesn't have to worry about his handlebars coming loose while riding down the road. Me, I added some Blue Loctite to the NYlock nut at the first thread, just for safety and peace of mind. I used the OEM rubber snubbers that came with my bike, a 2000 Suzuki VL1500LC, so I could use this kit without modifying anything else, and still be safe to ride. I always check my bike for loose hardware before I ride. Its a good practice to get into and won't leave you stranded when your far from home. All in all, the quality of the metal is very good and the price is good as well.
