Looks great but impossible for me to make work.
I could not get it to work on my 1994 XR650L. The instructions were marginal and really should not be required for something as simple as mounting a tank, but they were needed. They said to spread the tank apart to fit over the frame, impossible for one person, and with as much force as I could muster could not get it to a workable location. There was also no room for the support arms to clear the frame. I have used Aceris products and have always been impressed with the fit and finish so I was shocked at the problems I had. The tank looked like a 10 till I tried to mount it, it was packaged and labeled appropriately but I wonder if it was the correct tank. Help from OEMCycles was excellent, from Acerbis was responsive but marginal.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Very poor fit
It's no secret Acerbis 5.8 gal tanks fit horribly, just google it. they tell you to heat them up, enlarge bolt holes with a drill and my favorite "get a friend to help you spread the tank while you install" what a load of crap! there is no pockets in tank for the factory bushings the stock tank mounts on so they poke into the saddle of the tank while you and a buddy spread the tank and force it down over them the whole time they are imbedding themselves into the tank. Honda has been making the same bike for 23+ years and this tank is complete crap and the 2part you tube video the guy doesn't even install the cross bar correctly on bike frame so be careful of that or it will eventually grind a hole as well as the stock bushing will. BUY A CLARK 4.7 and save a lot of headache as well as wondering when it will start leakingVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Its worth the extra work
I read all of the horror stories about how hard this tank is to install before I bought it. It requires some extra work but it's really not that hard and the extra fuel is worth it. I was able to install it by myself with the use of a heat gun. Comes with everything you need except tube for the gas cap vent. Dual petcocks were a big selling point for me since that allows you to get all of the fuel out of the tank without "sloshing" the fuel around to the left side.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
