Cobra Slip On Exhaust for Yamaha VStar 950
Super easy install, took less than 15 minutes. Excellent sound compared to stock exhaust. Decent rumble at lower speed (accelerating/decelerating). Extremely minor backfiring during deceleration but not enough to warrant fuel management system. Slight performance boost. Overall, looks and sounds great for the money. 2013 V-Star 950 Tourer
This slip-on sounds amazing and better than expected. The rumble sounds very throaty but not excessively loud. The only issue was that the slip-on had a couple chips (manufacturing defect) by the tip. You can tell it’s from the manufacture because the indent is semi filled my polished chrome. The instructions say to use the included bolts to mount it to the frame. However, the included bolts were a little too short and the factory original ones fit much better. I know my 2013 isn’t technically “new” but I just bought it from a dealer less than 2 months ago and I’m the original owner (sat for 5 years) so everything just fit into place without issue (no rust, etc). This is the perfect upgrade to your bike. My xvs950 sounds sooooo much better now. It bolted to the existing mounts with only two bolts that included nuts with loctite on them. The amp was perfect fit and sealed it right up. Now it sounds better, looks better, and gets more attention! Cobra slip on is the best exhaust tip out there
I cannot believe the difference the Cobra Exhaust tip has made to my Vstar. The Sound is better than I expected. My brother has a Harley and we had both bikes side by side and I must say I like the sound of my bike now with the Cobra. I like the sound, it really opened up the rumble, way better than stock. Given that it was a used product it showed up exactly as seller stated it would; however, I only have it 4 stars because it would have been nice for the seller to maybe polish it. Good looking aftermarket slip on muffler
Looks really good on the bike, however, I had to finagle a bit to get the bracket holes aligned without having to enlarge the mounting bracket holes and had to loosen the rear fastener of the head pipe heat shield to fit the muffler. Plus, a bit louder than I thought, but, doable. Just need to ease up on the throttle when riding through my neighborhood. Greatly improved the sound of the bike!
The pipe is good looking and improved the sound a lot over stock. The bike does backfire and pop quite a bike on deceleration, but that is the fault of the ECM. Has a nice throaty sound without being obnoxiously loud.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
