Clutch Friction Kit - Standard Cork Style EBC CK4435 for Motorcycle Applications. It does reduce drag and it does give you a tiny HP gain but it ruins your clutch in minutes. Always use the bike manufacturers oil and fill to the right level, another not so clever trick used to gain a tiny power increase is to reduce the oil level in the drive-case, Oils must cool the clutch as well as lubricate it, never cut corners here and never put additives of any sort in drive-case oil which cause plates to stick and glaze, invalidating your warranty and ruining your clutch.
first time replacing my 24 year old bikes clutch friction plates
On removal of the old friction plates I measured the thickness with a micrometer and compared them to the new EBC's and found them to be the same. So the clutch must have been slipping because of weak springs, old age and even possibly the wrong oil. That is I heard somewhere that I wasn't supposed to use synthetic oil but semi-synthetic is OK. I'm not sure if that is true or not. I also threw in some new springs. Now my old bike with only 37,000 km's launches like it did when I first bought it new. Thank you EBC.
