If you are using this gear on anything earlier than a 1973 model, make sure the oil pump drive gear on the oil pump shaft matches this gear. Tec Tip!!! And very important information!!!!! 1972 And earlier, the oil pump drive shaft gear and the pinion shaft oil pump drive gear, have a different pitch than that of the 1973 and up gears. As long as both gears are matched, this will fit and work on your Harley engine as far back as 1954.
