Steering Neck Bearing
My Honda has over a 100,000 miles on it. The Steering neck bearings were getting badly worn. I replaced them with All Balls Steering Bearings. This totally eliminates all slack in the steering neck. I can ride down the road with my hands off the handle bars with absolutely no shaking or vibration that I had been experiencing with the factory bearings. Totally awesome, the value is great as well. Happy with upgrade.
At 16k on my Honda CB500x I decided to change the fork oil. Turning the handlebars with the fork tubes out I could really feel the bearings in the steering head starting to go bad. Only about 10% of my riding is off road, but the main roads where I live are very bad. The highway department must send their employees to Russian to learn the fine art of potholes. The only issue I can foresee is that the lower race is sized in such a way that there is nothing protruding past the inner diameter of its seat, which will be a problem if it ever needs to be removed.
