This graphic novel is an excellent addition to the Superman Returns movie. Fans of Siegel and Shuster will definitely enjoy the retelling of Clark Kent’s true origins and revisit family scenes with Ma and Pa Kent out in the old Kansas farm. Lex Luthor has been portrait as a real estate tycoon bent on nuking the entire state of California. Why this change from tradition? I guess to make a movie, but still it is a good representation of the evil Lex Luthor business tyrant. The novel also concentrates on Superman's weakness against green kryptonite - the only thing that can control or kill Superman. Lois Lane is the girl who’s interested in no other than Superman. Although, here she is portrait as someone getting over a past relationship with an unknown Man of Steel. The story is fun to read, even if you saw the movie. Aside from the move version length novel, you will also find a classic origins story from 1973, and a few other Superman titles of the days long gone by. Written by Martin Pasko, 168 pgs. Art and graphics are excellent. I give it 4 stars. :)Read full review
