Most people agree: Holy Wood is about returning to the roots of the band Marilyn Manson. Holy Wood is a fairly decent blend of what was portrayed in Antichrist Superstar, mixed with the lighter glamour of Mechanical Animals. Holy Wood is not as harsh and dark as Antichrist, but definitely shades darker and quite a bit more serious than Animals. Once you're past the blasphemous cover art, you'll delve into the core of the album itself, finding the fine-tuned perfection of each song that is typical Manson style. Most every track has something a little different than what you've heard out of the group before, but at the same time, I found that many of the songs lacked the special qualities, such as lyrical content found on both previous albums. Holy Wood just doesn't have the lyrical quality that I find to be the best part about Marilyn Manson. The most popular songs on this CD are "The Fight Song" and "Disposable Teens", but please take a listen to "Godeatgod" and "Target Audience" which are my personal favorites, likely because of their very serious lyrical content. Not my favorite Manson album, but any collection would be incomplete without it!Read full review
This album is one of my favorites from Marilyn Manson, although many believe is not the best, but one of the most remarkable. This is my favorite singer, respect and love his work, this man means a lot to me in life, give my perception of the world and lives in my heart, going through all this "tough, long road out of hell." The album draws, Holly Wood - a sacred tree, the album is dedicated to the deceased, as the tragedy at the school "Columbine." special attention and love I want to give the tracks: Godeatgod, Disposable Teens, "President Dead", In The Shadow Of The Valley Of Death, Born Again, Coma Black, Valentine's Day, The Fall Of Adam In general, I love this album, all advise
Good CD, and I loved the songs. A Marilyn Manson classic. This CD offers a new sound that is still true Manson, but with added industrial sounds. I decided to get this CD because i wanted to finish my collection. It would make a great addition to anyones collection. i rate the disk with a 8 1/2 out of 10.

Holywood never quite reached the brilliant greatness that Antichrist Superstar or Mechanical Animals did. Still, even though some of the songs are quickly forgotten, it is a solid album and I enjoy it whenever I put it on. I just don't find myself going back to it very often. The Nobodies is the stand out track. 4 Stars.
