More than just a cult classic. This movie has horrible acting, low budget directing, bad film editing with some ok camera work and a lame ending. John Carpenter hits it out of the park yet again with an engaging and thought provoking sci-fi horror with perfect music, character development, and special effects. They don't make 'em like they used to. Carpenter maintains creative control on all his masterful works and this one is up there with The Thing, Escape from New York, and Big Trouble in Little China when it comes down to being very true to itself and it's message. Do not miss this movie - and buy it on Blu Ray! Keith David and Roddy Piper's chemistry shines. And again, the music is slammin' from start to finish. "Wake Up" embodies a sound that no other musician could capture - John Carpenter is a legend. Truly the greatest director of all time. If you don't own this, don't short change your movie collection.
