Amazing attention to detail by lifelong Yankee fan Billy Crystal! A+++++
Loved it completely and I'm not even a Yankee fan. Honestly, you don't even have to be one TO love it! Have always been a fan of Billy Crystal's work over the years and I thought this was honestly his very best work, no question! I know he's a lifelong Yankee fan who grew up with DiMaggio, Mantle and Maris, etc. He paid attention to every little detail and it shows in the end product! If you're a Yankee fan or baseball lover in general, you'll definitely love this amazing look back in history that sadly years later was tainted and tarnished by cheaters Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa and Barry Bonds who all took steroids or PED's because otherwise, there's no way any of them even get close to Mantle or Maris and they know it! To me? Roger Maris will ALWAYS be the true HR king with 61 HR's in 1961! RIP Roger and Pat Maris :-(

Billy Crystal produced an authentic portrayal of the home run chase by Roger Maris to pass Babe Ruth's 60 HR single season record. Billy Crystal's friendship with Micky Mantle lent for details in the story line that enhanced the film's authenticity. Well worth watching today even if it's been a while since you viewed it.
