Enjoying this series. Happy to have found 7 years at once together. It's a bit quirky and might take some getting used to. The thrown in seens of attraction that are in mind not happening at tmes between the main male/female actors can be distracting and even annoying at times. But you get used to that even. I'd say much better than some of the BBC series. Overall a 4 to 5 star series I hope continues with good writing and wonderful plots which deserve 7 stars for it's plots. Acting is top notch it's the editing or directing that has a slip here and there and pushing the first 3 years suggesting EVERYTHING MODERN as thought of by EVERYONE on this show. Otherwise if you can let the little annoyances go...sit back and just enjoy. But it won't be for everyone and might take a few shows before it grows on you. :)))Read full review
A good way to watch a light drama with a little comedy with a lot of twist and turns that will surprise you in the end. I truly enjoy watching this.

This guy is Gil Grissom, Sherlock Holmes and Watson all in one! Amazing historic value in almost every episode, may not be exact but love the way the writers incorporate events, discoveries and famous people into the adventures of the team.

Murdoch Mysteries is Canadian made and is wonderfully entertaining. Detective Murdoch uses intuition and science to solve his cases and does not have the DNA technology that we have today. This forces him to use his wits. In solving his cases, he meets historical figures such as Nicolai Tesla, Thomas Edison, Teddy Roosevelt, and others; these characters help make his cases more exciting and relevant for those of us who know our history. Detective Murdoch has a love interest, Julia, who helps him greatly by working in the medical field and figuring out what the deceased is trying to tell the living. All of the characters are wonderfully alive and colorful. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone drawn to the forensic/science field with a historical bent!

If you have not yet seen the Murdoch Mysteries I urge you to do so. Set in Victorian Toronto the police are just beginning to learn about 'finger marks' and how to detect human from animal blood. Based on the books by Maureen Jennings. I stumbled across this show one snowy Saturday afternoon and was instantly hooked. Great plots, fantastic actors and good chemistry between the actors. It does not hurt that the star, Yannick Bisson is incredibly handsome. Det. William Murdoch solves crimes in a way that baffles his plodding, quirky coworkers. There is mystery and mind boggling twists and turns that keep one guessing until the end. Dashed with humor, I highly recommend this series for any mystery lover! I have been telling everyone I know about this series. I only wish I had known about it years ago. Now I am having Murdoch marathons to catch up.Read full review
