Honeywell replacement better than OEM. Troubled at first...definitely found that the Honeywell damper unit was fried on my AC unit. It took some sweat time in the attic and almost emailing the seller. After taking a break I was back at it only to find that someone had switched the zones to the dampers obviously because one of them failed. After that discovery, the install including wiring was a piece of cake (10 minutes). Reason I am noting this is just in case someone runs into the same problem as there are many techs out there that don't know what they are doing (verify your zone to damper). Long story short...I just ordered the second damper to replace the other one...just makes sense. Highly recommend changing the OEM Honeywell spring return for this unit. Thanks, JIM

Not an "exact" drop in but is works as it should and buying them instead of having a local HVAC company come out and do the job saved about $800.00. They wanted $494 each to remove and replace the two bad ones. Thankfully these did the job. Lucky there easy access to my ducting too.

Perfect fit as described. This unit uses set screws which made it hard to tighten. The longer screws on the Honeywell were the same size so I used it. I had to sand the damper shaft to smooth out the marks left from tightening the screws. It allowed the unit to push on the shaft easier.

Very well made actuator. It has a steel gear vs Honeywell's cheap plastic gear which wear out over time. I actually repaired the Honeywell once by flipping the gear over to good teeth, but they wore out too. I just bought another actuator for my second zone. Very good product. It has heft, solid construction.

I made a conversion of this damper from a two-wire "spring close, motor open" device to a three-wire "motor open, motor close" device. It was a fairly quick swap once I'd obtained the required 18-3 wire. The only 'hiccup' was that the flat on the shaft didn't align with the set-screw of the motor and there are no instructions included or online on how to correct this. In the end I just tightened the setscrew on the rounded part of the shaft and if it slips I'll grind in a flat. I DO recommend this product.
