it is a square quality game like so many others...and does a great job of enabling women of certain qualities much like previous final fantasy games and disney movies such as moana and mulan...and several others....i think the game is a little short compared to final fantasy 7 but it is still a welcomed game to supplement other excellent games.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 ended on a cliff hanger so I picked up Final fantasy XIII-3 lighting returns just to see how the story ends. Does it help Final Fantasy XIII reputation has being a disappointment. Story The world is being destroyed and Benuzile the god of light can't do anything about it, instead he is going to remake the world, he sends lighting to gather has many souls has she can to lead them into the new world. In order to extend time Lighting must find and save the souls of her friends. all though the story does focus a bit on deaitside towards the end it really does show how Asian mythology differs from the west. The story blends in elements from Christianity, buddasim., Daoism into the story. You might want to check out a video called gametheory final fantasy and religion before playing this game. Graphics. The has 4 unique places two cities, a huge wild land with different environments in them, and finally a desert with huge ruins in them. The lush environments of the last two come out pretty well. However sometimes in the cities you do see some odd textures. Also the people are not only reused a lot with different disguises but there are frame rate and animation problems to some of them. It's not bad looking but there are rough spots. Sound. A decent sound track and even a few cues to classic final fantasy music (beating a monster dress up like Cloud will give you the FF7 fanfare). The voice acting is not bad with the exception of Lighting sounding too flat, which I understand she is suppose to but it leads to a boring main character. Gameplay The game has 4 main areas, 5 quests to complete and a timer. It also has a lot of sub quests. In combat lighting can equip 3 outfits that vary her stats and combat abilities. You move around attack and drain the ATB meter, when the meter reaches zero you have to switch and let it recharge. Like the last Final Fantasy XIII hitting an enemy in it's weak point will stagger it causing you to get bonus damage. You can also equip guards and guarding at the right negates all damage of the attack. Battling however does not level you up it gives you money, items needed for subquests, and EP that allows you to do handy things like stop the clock. To level up you have to do side quests which are nothing but fetch quests however some can be time consuming especially if they have components that take place at different times of the day. Lighting only has a week (but can be expanded to 13 days by completing main quests) so choosing which guys to help is critical. That and the ability to stop time for a while also helps emensly. Still the fact that the main quests only take a few days (if you use chronostasis) means the game literally just shoves you off with about a week to kill doing nothing but side quests. Quests if you choose to ignore will get you slaughter by the last boss. Too many fetch quests can make a game boring and that's this games basic problem. Final Recommendation. Lighting Returns Final Fantasy XIII isn't a bad game, but it's a step down from the sequel. That said the fact that it's 180 from the original with an action packed combat system and huge open worlds does make it a huge improvement from where the series started out atRead full review
This game is AWEsome! The new fighting engine is engenius. Real time action based fighting, and be able to switch personas in the middle of combos make for some CRAZY Martial Mayhem. Gotta love picking a fight as a Modern Techno Social Site Socialite, swinging your Kitted Out Katana. Then end it with a wave of your hand drawing the Devils Deeds from your wand as a Puritan Period (SEXY!) yet stereotypical Witch, pointy hat included.Seamlessly switching from one to another. Each persona has a Uniquely Familiar sets of Skills, Styles, and Sorcery. When you get the timing down you can make the switch as part of a combo or a combo (Break) so it all flows as a single series of attacks, defensive dashes or teleports,Spells and Spectacles, skeptically seamed, skilfully sequenced, Dance of disaster. without stopping in step to step up in stance to strategically start a sequence to strike in a steady stopping series of steps staggered in stages to sit and stare at the screen and stand still so the story continues in stride. just to do it again.Read full review

I know that alot of people didn't like the story but loved the gameplay. I'm in the minority in this one but, for me I thought the story was good. I think that most people say it's the story but in reality they mean the world. I will give you that this game has some of the quirkiest villains and the weirdest world of any Final Fantasy game. But I also think that it is very memorable. Years from now people are still going to talk about this game. I don't think they will be talking about Final Fantasy V.
