I like that the socks were thick enough to provide warmth, but they were not as thick as my other similar 80% wool socks. Plus, I have another set of warmer socks, but they do not have any grip, and they sag; these have some spandex for grip. Also, the fact that they have some polyester and nylon seem to help with durability, as far as I can tell so far. They have some extra length to allow for some shrinkage, but so far no problem with that after washing. I did, however, follow the instructions to turn the socks inside out and hang to dry. The insides and heal were very comfy. I know that all wool socks have some piling, but again, so far, these socks have little of such. They are nicely warmish but breathable, and they seem to manage moisture decently well. I am wearing them just around the house, but I'm certain that they would do a good job as hiking socks as well. Ironically, nothing to sock it to you about these socks, nor reasons to tell the manufacturer to take a hike. The only note regarding care is that if the toe end of the sock is pushed too hard by the foot, there is a tendency to add wear, and the white underlay material shows through. This might be the only aspect to watch out for. In any case, these socks easily are worth the cost, in my minion opinion. PS. Shipment time from the US to Canada was timely. Read full review
