The new "King" of microphone in-line preamps!
I thought I'd be a Triton fethed fan forever in the line of microphone active inline preamps. First it was the Cloudlifter cl-1 which became an industry standard with 22db of gain for gain needy microphones, but needed two microphone cables to get the job done. Then came the Fethed which followed that provided 25 db ofand it only needed one XLR cable. So this where the industry started playing the "gain" game. Finally comes the sE DM-1 dynamite active inline preamp. Where the fethed reminded me of a spark plug for a classic muscle car of the 60's, the dynamite was shaped like " a stick of dynamite" ! What a way to convey the power of this device! Clever! And this mike delivers 28 db of clean gain and doesn't change the color of the microphone. Nice! All the live demos I've seen (onlne) made me a believer. And when I got mine (for my own tests) I'm a convert too! I like mine so much I bought another for my guest(s) microphone. Lives up to the hype
It does what it is supposed to and then some. It costs less than a Cloud Lifter and boosts my EV RE20 up into the stratosphere. I'm an old pro not prone to hype but all the good stuff you hear about the DM1 is fact not fiction. And the packaging is brilliant.
