Compatible with 1999-2014 Ford 4.6/5.4L 4V Engines; The improved spark energy and voltage of MSD's Blaster Coils, combined with reliability, have made them a favorite for performance enthusiasts. Whether firing a restored BOSS 429 or a Saturday night circle tracker, the Blaster has always gotten the job done. MSD offers Blaster Series Ignition coils for late model Ford engines. The housing and installation are the same as the factory, but that's where the similarity ends. Inside the MSD red housing, engineers spec'd better material to assemble the primary and secondary windings. The Blaster Series Ignition Coil design puts the spark energy right out of the coil and across the plug gap to improve the combustion and output of the engine.
Great MSD Quality - Worth the Cpst - Don't buy Cheap Chinese Junk
These genuine MSD COP, coil on plug are a great part. I would never trust my vehicle with unknown knock off parts for such a critical item such as a coil. Coils producing the appropriate spart and at each position are critical to your engines longevity. Low spart or varied spark causes an imbalance on your crank and can lead to failures of bearings, pistons, etc. Is it really worth the savings when a single tow (besides the hassle) alone is the difference in price? Worst scenario you could be looking at thousands of dollars in repairs.
I use these coils in my Mark VIII, and I have a set ready to install in my 1996 Saleen Cobra Mustang.
My car had numerous misfire issues with the original but aged coils. I had extras and replaced the bad ones only to have more issues. be smart and put a set of these and new plugs into your car. You may even save enough gas over thousands of miles to pay for them.
installed coils which were correct product number for my engine. Engine would not run properly after installing coils. Had to take car to shop and spent over $220.00 in repair cost to determine the coils were faulty and replace them with OEM Ford coils.
