Actually using on a 2002 Sierra fleetside
First, YES this will work on a Sierra/Silverado of my era (again, mine is a 2002)! It looks like I just need to modify the brackets OR have some fabricated. Even with the $50-100 for custom brackets, this bumper would be a cheaper upgrade for the 1999-2003 generation (all bumpers listed FOR this gen start at almost $900). I took a chance on this BECAUSE it is like a heavy duty, blacked-out, full-metal version of the 2007 stock bumper. This bumper comes with features that could cost extra on other more expensive bumpers. It has: Corner steps built in, Sensor Mounts 3 inch square cutous for LED flush mount lights and trailering adapter plates for mounting the two most common trailer harnesses (that your truck may already have the wiring for hidden underneath - if not, most GMs come with the harness block that you can plug a ready-made harness kit into - no splicing or wiring work needed). As for fit, it will be snug at the bed corners, but I think it looks designed for my truck!
