Very easy assembly. No instructions needed. 300 pound limit is not something that I will exceed. The winch handle is thin and may bend. The materials are light duty so this is not a 500-1000 pound lift machine. Use it on 300 or less pound items and there should not be a problem. Just a tip. I intentionally mounted my winch upside down so the handle is on the vehicle's passenger side of the lift so I could crank with my right hand and adjust the load with my left. The bottom section of the vertical shaft is made of 1 1/2" inch square tubing and the top section is made of 1 1/8" square tubing so don't plan on using it to lift your 800 pound elk. It should lift your field dressed deer just fine.

Highly recommend this product if your looking to do exacty what the product claims to do. The only mod I made was using a plastic door shim wedge to sturdy two vertical tubes. The bottom female tube is slightly larger than the upper male tube which gives the unit a slight side to side movement that I didnt care for. The product is perfectly fine out of the box without using the plastic door shim wedge although I wanted a more solid feel while operating. All in all... Great buy 👍

Seems to be well made. I just wish it would extend higher for deer processing or skinning coyote.

I would change out the winch you have to loosen the brake but to release some cable
