Better than expected
I expect a lot from an expensive phone, so I chose a brand with a reliable track record. After exploring every corner of this phone I can say that all the usual glowing things people tend to say about the Samsung Note8 are true. My concerns when buying were the reported short battery life and the Samsung bloatware. The relatively small battery they used gives a better than expected charge time because samsung has done a wonderful job at aggressively managing apps which design the battery. I still have full control over letting apps use more power if i need it to. The bloatware was not nearly as bad as I have seen on other phones which don't even particularly have a reputation for it. It certainly wasn't as bad as I expected. To make it even better, it is possible to uninstall more preinstalled apps on this phone than on any other phone I have used. And if that weren't enough, the level of granular control I have by default is amazing. Would definitely buy againRead full review

Dislkike Bixby
Dislike Bixby and inability to inactivate. Cannot schedule a text message. When using GOOGLE to perform a function, Samsung has changed something so it does not appear. I like the note function and overall it performs well and not as well as Note 4 which I had to upgrade due to inability to get to Android 7 for work security.

Last of the old school full featured phones?
This was purchased to replace a Galaxy Note 5 that was unfortunately damaged beyond repair. I do NOT expect this phone to be as durable as the 5, due to the curved "screen edge" design, that replaced a very solid metal chassis rim with fragile glass, but it has expandable memory, which the Note 5 lacks. I am only 2 days into learning my way through the new interface, and I still find it very irritating, but I assume I will get used to it. I am not ready to droip this in the toilet, to see if the standard of waterproofing is up to the Note 5's which survived that test. I may buy a second one just to have a spare on hand, if this one shatters the first time it hits the floor. The camera is not up to modern phone standards, but the battery was adeuate to video a 2 1/2 hour concert this evening. I bought it for features the new phones have eliminated: expandable memory, headphone jack, heart rate sensor and pulse oxymeter. I bought this instead of another Note 5 cuz I wanted expandable memory and USB-C. . Read full review

Great phone that has better hardware than the Galaxy S9+ for 1/2 the price...
I've had this phone for just over a week. It is awesome. It is fast and has very good battery life. The sound and call quality are good. It has been hard to find a good screen protector because of the curved glass. The 3 brands that I have ordered have reduced the sensitivity dramatically.

Phone is neat depending on what you upgraded from. Coming from S6, it is easy to be impressed. Transition is a piece of cake. Size is only issue for me. Just a bit wide and don't care for Bixby. Would rather be able to program the button for something else.
