The handles on this are only 6" long and 3/8" diameter. The radius of the bender is very tight, about 1-3/8" on the outside and 9/16" inside for a 180 degree bend. If it could bend a 1/4" tube, it would just kink being that tight. I wish I knew the dimensions before I bought it. The degree markings are almost useless, no where near as legible as in the picture. My bad for not researching this before buying.
Overall, this bender would only be able to handle the thinnest and softest of materials if you were to even try a 1/4" tube. It says "light gauge", but it also says "industry tough" and "stainless steel" tubing. I would not use it on a brake or fuel line. It might be find for bending pipe cleaners for some art project. Don't waste your money on this. It comes with a lifetime guarantee, I guess that's because you will never use it.
One more thing I found. Warning: This product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer.
Weak cast aluminum junk.
They say it is aluminum so no surprise there but to snap like that seems very weak to me.
Broke the handle on the very first 90 degree bend of 1/4 inch Stainless Steel tube.
While the description states for thin wall tube, the handle broke half way thru the first bend on 1/4" thin wall tubing. I remade the handle out of 3/8" aluminum plate and it works just fine. It may have been a bad casting of parts. I am happy with its performance.
