For slightly 'premium pricing', Kimber *OEM* has the Least amount of "Tuning" required for installation, trouble-free Function, "right out of the package." No matter the Brand/ Quality/ 'Machining', the Finer firearms want Finer Tuning in any Factory produced Product. All 'Factory Runs/ Batches' must have a Single set of Specs/ Tolerances/ *Finishes*, etc.. But Your Kimber is an Individual masterpiece.. The Installation of this Very high quality Ambidextrous Safety 'add-on' Should be performed by a Qualified 'Smithy'.. This is the Ambi Safety for your 1911!
This is a quality part and with some minor fitting (to be expected) it works perfect. Looks great and now my 1911 is truly good for off hand shooting for a right hander, or much easier to shoot as a lefty. I have had nothing but good comments from everyone how has seen or handled the pistol. I highly recommend this part if you are even considering changing you Ambi safety or adding it to replace you standard safety. A major point in using this style of ambi is you don't need to have the notched left hand grip. This safety comes with the new sear pin. You can have this fitted in less than an hour if you feel comfortable working with small files and are confident in you ability, otherwise you can have a qualified gunsmith install it for you. Lots of youtube videos on how to install a ambi safety. JUST A NOTE: The firearm is unloaded prior to any work being completed for the installation of the safety and is unloaded prior to photos being taken.

Not just for Kimbers
