These are the original classic Dutch coin-shaped salt licorice, the only thing that's different is the bag is written in English. They're tough, which makes them a long-lasting pastille. Perfect for people trying to cut back on the candy. They're also salt licorice, which has an aftertaste of ammonia - also perfect for people trying to cut back on the candy. I love salt licorice, just to be clear, so I knew what I was buying when I ordered these. Other people might not be so lucky. But these are also the perfect "beginner" salt licorice, as the ammonium chloride, or "salmiak", as it is called in most of Europe, is actually used quite sparingly.
