Rit has been tie-dyeing clothing and decor for decades. It's also the perfect tool to create an ombre, dip dyed, marbled or shibori pattern. It can even dye wood, wicker, paper and cork. All you need is a washing machine, plastic container or stainless steel sink to get started.
Turmeric is a spice and recently it's been popularized as a dietary supplement, usually in the form of a Curcumin extract. I use Turmeric for my dog and myself, added to food, in the form of Golden Paste. Until you have an "Oopsie" moment you don't realize that it has been traditionally used as a fabric dye. It will fade over time, but the "Oopsies" generally end up in the middle of a carpeted room.
Of all the cleaners that I've tried (enzyme, oxy, vinegar, on and on) none have worked even remotely as well as RIT Super Stain Remover. Before treating a stain in my family room, I did a test on a carpet remnant, making 2 stains with Turmeric Paste, rubbing it into the fibers. On one stain I removed as much as I could with a paper towel then applied a popular enzyme stain remover, let it sit for 20 minutes, blotted, sprayed with fresh water, blotted again then applied RIT as directed. On the second I removed as much as I could with a paper towel and applied RIT as directed. At the end, both treated areas were sprayed with clean water, blotted and allowed to air dry. The results were amazing.
Both results would have made me happy, but the stain that had no other cleaning product before applying the RIT Super Stain Remover was nearly perfect. On the first try! The pictures were taken before the stained areas dried and were even more impressive after thoroughly drying. I've also used this on tough laundry stains - both old and new - and am impressed with its performance. I'm ordering another so I never run out!
