Pay for the best you get the best
I've used many of the Diamond type grease pastes and a few of them do very well and hold up somewhat. However, if you're planning on overclocking and want something that will perform for more than a single year or more then I'd highly recommend the Tuniq TX-4 Extreme which has proven itself on my desktop (AMD 8350 OC'd to 4.3 Ghz) and both of my laptops (Intel i5's). Many of the so-called Silver pastes just don't hold up very well anymore as much as they use to. I stopped using them and purposely went to the diamond type for better performance and longer life and it's proven itself to perform better and transfer heat much more rapidly, the problem is they don't quite last as long as I'd like. If you're going to spend the money on a quality build then I'd be willing to put a quality transfer grease/paste on my system to make it work right for as long as possible. To me it only makes sense. This is your best CPU paste
I used Tuniq TX4 inside a ultraportable laptop when I upgraded from a dual i7-2620m to a quad i7-3612m processor motherboard. It's quieter with the quad processor than it was with the dual CPU. I can only tell you it did the job for me the one time I used it. I had a PC that kept reporting "fan malfunction" and I used this between the CPU and heat sink to fix it. Great thermal compound for 980x on x7200
This thermal compound has helped me a lot with this processor it put my temps while gaming from 72-75 C @ 25% load to 70-68 C on the same game. However, i have to admit the price is a bit high for a thermal paste you could buy ic diamond for half the price but, i prefer this one. Because even if the price is higher its easier to remove then ic diamond and it won't scratch my surface die if i decide to be fast.
