Great feeder for small birds. I bought this feeder as a replacement to other one. I only use Safflower seeds in my Clinger. I ran out of Safflower so I replaced with Sunflower seeds. This was a mistake because squirrels chewed on the feeder. You can use any type seed, just place it so the squirrels do not have access to the feeder.
