Long life cycle for my electric fence zapper with solar charging.
I bought one of these 6VDC 4.5Ah lead acid batteries for my garden electric fence zapper, years ago. The electric fence zapper is still working nicely with this same battery, for many years now. It is charged by a solar cell during daylight hours, and I turn it on at night (when I remember to), then turn it off during daylight hours (when I remember too) so it gets an increased charge into the battery during the daylight hours without the zapping circuit consuming power when not needed during the daytime. I dont have a pest problem during daylight hours, only at night the skunks, raccoons, possems, rats, etc seem to come out at night. This way, it lasts for many days longer during rainy seasons when the clouds keep it from charging fully during a cloudy rainy day. Maybe this is why the battery has lasted for so many years. I would expect a lead-acid battery like this one, with a continuous drain, to only last a year or two, but this battery has lasted many years now, maybe 3-4 years at least, and still going strong.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
