Have a aquaponics system. One water pump, but many air pumps. Had been using less costly pumps for the past 5 years, but they are pretty noisey. Was OK for a while, when we did not have a neighbor on that side of our lot. But we do now, so are taking steps to quiet down our garden. This our 2nd Pondmaster, and we ordered our 3rd yesterday. Wish I could tell you how these pumps are doing in some years now, but cannot, so sorry. They are doing well now. Pretty quiet, and will be even quieter after we build our sound dampening enclosures. The air manifold is pretty much useless for our purposes. There is no flow adjustments, and we pump air to all different water depths. So we use valved manifolds instead. The plastic manifolds will fall apart after a while from sun exposure anyway, so a S/S manifold is a must for us.Read full review

The pondmaster AP40 pump is a replacement for an AP20 pump that had failed after living a long life outside. This pump produces a strong aeration to my pond. It's working great right out of the box and is a good value.

Started switching over to "quieter" pumps because I had a complaint from the neighbor. The pump is quieter than the other pumps that we previously had, and with the larger size we only needed to run 2 pumps versus the previous 4, with more air to boot. I recommend this unit.

Had 2 others over the years to keep my 1/4 ac pond alive... they work great! one last 6+ yrs, the other only 2. Hoping this one will go the distance... so far, it's bubbling up a storm!

So far so good. Does the job in my setup. Will see how long it lasts.
