I give this game an 8 for the time being 1998. Compared to the time I'm writing this review it would be about a 2 compared to Madden 2007. But this game for the year 1998 is very good. The graphics are great for that the time and the game play is just about the same as Madden NFL 2002 for N64. I particularly like this game over Madden 2002 for N64! This game has about the same game play but better then Madden! I could compare this to madden 99, 2000, or 2001 but I'm comparing it to the last Madden on the N64 console just to show how the latest compares to the past. The game play is similar to Madden 02 and the Graphics are even better! Let me explain... Game play/Controls- 7 The game play isn't all that great. Well that’s just my opinion but the game play for the N64 hasn't changed at all for football games. Quarterback Club '98 has just about the same game play as Madden 2002 does. In 5 years or so no one could come up with a better game play? They could have just switched the controls or something just to spice things up a bit. Graphics- 9 The graphics for this game are very good. GREAT for the time. I mean the graphics for this game are better then Madden 2002. Again this is 5 or so years in the making and QB Club '98 has better graphics then a game that was made 5 years after? Someone’s lazy people! You will have fun playing this game. I mean the graphics made it more fun for me. No one wants to play a game with bad graphics. It just isn't fun. I mean I didn't play this game for long and most likely wont play it in the near future but that’s just because I prefer the later systems, rather then the N64. Though this game is defiantly better then most in the graphics area. Sound- 5 The sound isn't great. It's about average for 1998. It's not like the announcers are acting like they’re actually on TV and replaying every play. I didn't see any replays when I played which was disappointing but at least we don’t have an annoying John Madden going "BOOM!" "BOOM!" All right bottom line...8. This game aint worth more then $10 tops. The game is fun don’t get me wrong but there are a lot of better games for other systems. You can get this game easily for under $10, and in a lot of places under $5. This is in my opinion the best Football game on the Nintendo 64 gaming system. If you only have an N64 and nothing else later such as an Xbox or PS2 then I strongly suggest that you get this game. If you skeptical then just play it first. Believe me this is a good game mostly graphic wise, though is good in a lot of other areas too. So bottom line....Football fans get out and play this game!Read full review

Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned
I remember the game from my teen years. Its a nice change from playing the new football games to go back to when I thought that the graphics were great! Lol. When I look back now just the simplest games are still amusing!
kind of old but is still a pretty fun game, really brings back memories of when i used to have a 64 a few years ago
As far as older games go, this is one of the best older football games out there! It has provided countless hours of entertainment for me and friends.
