Great American made Amplifier
Okay, I've been playing thru Peavey amps since 1982. That's when I got my first Backstage amp, a few years later got a Backstage Plus. These amps are awesome, think about it, 30 to 40 year old solid state amplifiers, these things are built like a tank, reliable and sound awesome, takes pedals great. I have two Backstage Pluses, a Backstage 20 watter and an Audition 20. I run them in stereo and do a one man band Pink Floyd thing. I have a multi-function pedal board, I play acoustic and electric, so I need everything to work right in its order to sound good. Not everything is solid state, I do use a Vox ToneLab ST to get that tube sound and for versatility, it's got great tones that are easily enhanced, it takes pedals in front and behind well, and a Digitech Trio Plus to accomplish the one man band gig. A Keeley Dark Side pedal for the Gilmour/Floyd tones but I still run it through a Vox ToneLab preset, then a Line 6 DL4 for all the delay textures. The amps are all set for a beautiful clean tone, I run my main loops, guitar/keyboard through a Backstage Plus, my leads come through my other Backstage Plus and my bass and percussion go through the 20 watt Backstage with a Korg AX1G processor in front set on a modified Phased patch to give my rhythm section some depth and enhancement. These awesome amps are so underrated, 35 watts that sound like it's way over 50 watts and can handle small venues or drive your neighbors insane. Put them in stereo and have them amplify your whole sound. They're rugged, cheap/inexpensive, American made, classic looks, great sound. Some folks swear by other name brand amplifiers, y'all know the names, they're all good amps, but I'll rock my Peaveys and still have some bread in my pocket. Oh yeah, make sure to use some bufferd pedals in the right spots and some noise reduction, I'm fond of Behringer, once again bread in pocket, don't be a snob. Have a nice day and live the music.
