I had a Nexus 7 (2013) Model, 32GB. The latest update rendered my tablet unusable. I purchased this one as a replacement. The OS on this one is Android 5.1. It keep notifying me of another update which I ignore because I don't wanna brick this one. ASUS nor Google admits that their OTA OS updates are rendering the Nexus 7 (2013) models unusable/bricked. Battery life is horrendous. I guess it's time to invest in another tablet manufacturer. I'm done with ASUS.

Screen quality is very good but the tablet touch sensitivity is not the best - very "stiff" and non-responsive. I bought this for my elderly mom to play games and use Google Now and Translate so the lack of SD card is not a big deal. It would be for me if I were using it.

This is a great tablet. It is very fast and has plenty of RAM. The battery life is really great as well. This tablet is excellent for those who need to multitask, want a bigger screen (but not as big as 10"), but want something small. It feels comfortable to hold in your hands in either portrait or landscape, the speakers are excellent as well. This tablet compares like nothing else to the others. You CANNOT get any other device this good, with this build quality, at this price! Rating is 4 star because of the GPS, reboot, and touch screen problems (possibly software/hardware at fault?), otherwise it's a 5 star device. I'd wait to get one until the issues are ironed out though. Pros: - Very fast. - Plenty RAM. - Front and back camera. - Lots of battery. - Pretty light. - Smaller than last gen. - WiFi in it is amazing. - NFC. - Wireless charging capability. - Good speakers. Cons: - Google GPS, touchscreen, and reboot issues. - No back camera flash (not a deal breaker). - Side buttons are a little hard to use, but it's something you can deal with for the excellent device you have in return.Read full review
Beautiful little tablet! I just received it a few days ago and so far, its working great. the screen is really sharp, the speed overall is surprisingly fast, setup was a breeze, and everything is working perfectly. The built-in GPS is accurate, and the camera quality is certainly good enough for everyday stuff. Its thin, light, and easy to use with one hand. For the price, it's just a great value. so far, I haven't had any of the problems others have reported, but its only three days old, so time will tell. If you already have another android device and a Google account , it can automatically download all your current apps to your new Nexus. That worked like a charm for me.
Overall, I'm happy with the Nexus 7 2nd gen. I bought it to replace a 1st gen that got dropped into the toilet (it still works). Screen quality is fantastic. HDMI out is a nice added feature. There is still no external memory but that's not a big issue for me. The battery life is not as good as the 1st gen. The added rear camera takes decent pictures and video. It has already upgraded to android 4.4.4. It's a great tablet for the money.
It is very light weight and easy to use!!! It's a great product and I recommend it. The only thing is, it sometimes glitches. For example, I would just be browsing the internet and it will randomly open my keyboard. However, the battery life is awesome!! I'll charge it, and it'll last for about 4-5 days. Of course, it also depends on the amount of time you use it, but yeah the battery life is great. Another thing is, I don't know if it's only Google Android products or Instagram itself, but whenever I upload a picture onto Instagram it becomes all pixelated. Them again, that could just be Instagram.
Great device and great price. It's perfect for my needs. I use a Mac laptop but a android Samsung phone so I got this instead of the iPad mini or Kindle because of the OS. It's fast, lots of great apps, easy to use. I sold my surface to get this. The screen is a little small so it may take getting use to but the quality is great. I've watched videos, read books, played chess and listen to music. The speakers are so so but I usually use bluetooth headphones anyway. Overall it's great!
Nexus 7 2013 (2nd generation). Overall these are the best. I have two of these. They run Android 6.0.1 OS, which runs every other app i have downloaded with no problem. They are the right size for easy carry, the screen is great, the camera is not high def but I use my phone's camera anyway. The only things I have found that are less-than-perfect are: 1) the charging port is fragile. One of mine still charges on the wire but not reliably - so I bought a wireless charger which works perfectly and is even easier and more convenient than charging with the wire. 2) the accelerator on the same tablet also sometimes does not work, which means it does not know when i change from portrait to landscape - so i found an app that changes the orientation manually and that works fine when i need it.

This is still a top tablet and a great buy, even though it debuted in 2013. Super high resolution screen - fast processor, excellent support. Only down side is that memory is not expandable. Convenient size gives big enough screen for movie viewing or gaming, and still small/slender enough to fit in many pockets. For me, a can't go wrong option for a 7" tablet. when I crushed mine with a hatchback gate in the dark, I replaced it with the same model, even though there were many new options for 7" sized tablets on the market since 2013.

Had one of these before but my wife claimed it to play games on; so, I went out and bought another since I liked my first one so much. Wife also has two Kindle's, but I'll take the Nexus 7 any day! Can't go wrong as far as price and features go.
