This kit was easy to assemble, even though no instructions are included (they are available online). It took me about an hour. The board markings are clear and there were no issues with hole spacing or sizing. Worked perfectly the first time and was easy to adjust for the proper waveform shapes. Previous reviewers have mentioned a couple of minor enhancements, which I also recommend: First is that it would be nice to include a socket for the IC. I assembled my kit with a socket. This prevents heat damage to the IC and allows for easy replacement in case the IC is damaged. Second is that C5, as marked on the board, is for a 100uF cap. The kit came with a 220uF 16v cap instead. If you're going to power this from batteries, this is fine. But I use a wall wart, so I substituted a 100uF 35v cap. I did so because 16v is a little too close to the input voltage of 12v, and some wall warts vary in their output (I had one that was supposedly 12v and it output 19v). In addition, caps can vary +/ 20% in their specifications. Between the two you could exceed the actual voltage capacity of the cap. I feel it's better to allow for higher voltages in cases like this. Again, this is a great kit overall, and an excellent value.Read full review

Same complaint as n0pnp2002, the power capacitor in the supplied kit was rated 10VDC when the input voltage is 12VDC. I hooked it up, and the cap got very very hot, so I put in a "junk box" 100mf, 35V cap, works fine. The listing I bought from showed a 14 pin DIP socket to put the IC in, it was not supplied. Once again, junk box to the rescue. The pricing made these "oops" ok, but not perfect. The current listing shows a beefier cap, maybe it's rated for a higher voltage than 10V. As far as putting out the signals, it works fine for the purpose I wanted and was easier than etching my own board.

Unlike previous reviewers, my kit had a 220uF electrolytic rated for 16V instead of a 100uF/10V. This probably would have worked fine, but I replaced it anyway with a 100uF/35V just because I had one. So that's an improvement. Like a previous reviewer, I wish that the kit included a 14-pin DIP socket. I like that they include a big ol' knob for the coarse periodicity control. That more than makes up for the DIP socket. The output is very good and overall I rate this an excellent value.

1- Did not include IC socket. Luckily, I had one. 2- Wrong Lytic - 220u/10v. I replaced with 100u/50v. 3- No docs included, but board has clear labels and values, and ggl provided info. Board and components are ok quality. Built and tested on breadboard first. Finished kit worked ok.

It perfectly suits my requirements. My colleagues were satisfied so much that they will recommend this product to anyone who needs such signal generator.
