Battery life
I use this vacuum to clean single beds at a camp. Some places have electricity and others do not. This little vacuum will clean 10-14 twin sized memory foam mattresses with the electric brush attachment on it. That equates to 20-30 minutes of vacuum time before the battery dies. It takes 3-4 hours for battery to recharge. I love it! I just wish it had interchangeable batteries like a drill has. The overall design, cleaning and suction is great. The battery is the worst !
This is my 3rd Cordless Pet Vacuum. I use three of them daily basis for my 4BR home with three cats. The 1st and second ones are great therefore I bought this one as a third. Best lift-off style upright vac that Bissell made.
The Bissell upright lift-off model vacs manufactured after this 89Q9 are much less rugged and have a smaller 10 amp motor with less suction. If you want a nearly professional grade upright vac with very strong suction and offering the handy lift-off feature then do a search to find a used unit in this discontinued Bissell series. You can still get most repair parts and consumable items online at low cost. With only novice mechanical skills you can even fully rebuild a unit to virtually new condition in no time. Be prepared to replace the pleated No. 8 post-motor filter rather frequently. A 3-pack of filters costs about $12 online - enough for many months use under usual cleaning conditions. There is HEPA grade high performance No. 8 post-motor filter that is much more expensive than the paper filter type but does filter out allergens that my get by the plain paper-type filters. The one other filter that requires periodic attention is situated "pre-motor" and is fully washable. I have to wonder why Bissell decided to stop manufacturing this series of upright lift-off models in favor of the cheaper (albeit less expensive) units currently offered.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
