ReviewsI have never had a complaint about this text, either from students or faculty. That says quite a bit around here. It has the opportunity to use technology, but also to skip it. This is important at many schools . . . that are not quite ready to 'take the plunge.' , I like integrating the graphing calculator into the whole course. The examples in the calculator sections are very good. They illustrate many of the problems the students will encounter. Understanding the idea of function and its graph are essential in a precalculus course . . . this textbook does a good job in emphasizing their importance throughout the book., The main attraction for me to the book is the tone . . . it is rigorous enough for my students at Cornell, yet not stuffy and difficult to read. The amount of information in the book . . . suited my needs without being overwhelming.
