  • Cover crop

I did not buy this as deer feed although they do like it and sometimes come and visit. I purchased the seed to use as cover crop and soil enhancer as the radish grow, have good leaf cover to suppress weeds and rot out into organic matter by Spring. I use these, along with beans (buy in grocery store) and broadcast as both with grow without tilling into soil with the beans only growing to leaf stage, but retain roots that also rot by Spring. Anyone with a large (or small) home garden can extract a great benefit from this approach as the soil organic matter part both retains moisture and converts to fertilizer late in season. I till once, in Spring and broadcast fertilizer before doing and results are excellent as this is the only fertilizer application needed.
