I bought this vise to use around house and for general gunsmithing. Works quite well for its intended purpose. I am not intending to use this the same way as a forged steel vise for heavy duty work, as that was not intention. Has exceeded my expectations and is all that is needed for about 85% of its users. Some may require more HD vise. I did take it apart and shim the pivot screw with a thin wall bushing so there is no wabble when locked down. I would definetly buy another one! Just don't beat on it with a 10 lb sledge hammer!!

Wouldn't clamp to prevent it from rotating. I had to tap the holes for the two Locks deeper. They're only tapped halfway through the locking ring. I cleaned up various poor machine and rough edges all over the vice with a file. I think I used it about 4 times in 3 months and when I was cranking down to grip a 3/16 inch bolt the head snapped off. Poor quality cast iron. Complete junk.

You could pay more and get a little bigger and heavier. This is about the right size for most hobby and home repair guys. If you need a bigger vice your probably a tradesman or professional. This works for me when I'm doing some home gunsmithing or need a spare hand to hold stuff.

Everything works just fine and its of high quality. All the adjustments and swivel and teeth are like any other vice I've used and I'm glad I bought it.

This is a well built vise perfect for most home use. It is bigger than it's 4" description makes it seem. The best part is you are buying American goods!
