I used this for sanitizing / sterilizing rain water harvested in 275 gallon IBC tanks for my off-grid drinking water. From a lab test, it revealed total coliform was present (not E. Coli, thankfully), and although probably harmless, I wanted to make sure the water was safe. After adding a few of these little tablets to the water, the re-test came back free of all coliform. The first couple of days, I could smell a little chlorine in the water, but it has since gone away. I'd recommend this product.
