I will be still be doing a lot of burning, and my research led me to staying with a larger desktop style unit for durability. This is one of the models that is plug and play with no drivers , and indeed it works with my Mac mini without any issues. I already had an external dvd enclosure with a firewire port so the connection is much faster than USB2. So, durability, plug and play, and faster connection made this LG unit a logical choice for me. I have not tried the M-Disc feature yet but am looking forward to having a more reliable archival disc storage ability.
