Great Design
After years of using air popper that was noisy and vibrated away from the bowl, this is wonderful! Easy/quick and makes good popcorn. Stores with my bowls. Cleans up easily. Only two drawbacks: Not enough popcorn! Good quantity but disappears fast. And. If power goes out, we are sunk. But these are minor glitches. A great product. Great bowl for making popcorn!
Works very well for popcorn. Nearly every kernel popped. Don't leave it in the microwave too long to try and get every one popped or you'll burn the ones already popped. I read a review that the top keeps falling off in the microwave but I have not had that happen. I set it for 3 minutes but usually cancel it when the pops slow down to 2-3 seconds between pops. Better than a hot air popper or microwave bags
This popper is great and so easy to use. Just follow the simple directions and it comes out perfect every time. I love that you can heat a couple seconds longer and get some slightly burned kernels, my favorite! Can't do that with a hot air popper. For the Dieting Work in Progress
If you're dieting, microwave "bagged" popcorn is a calorie hog. I decided to try this gizmo. It works, although don't use a heaping 1/3 cup of popcorn, it won't all pop. It pops corn fast, but if you don't remove the lid IMMEDIATELY, popcorn absorbs moisture and becomes chewy. I use spray non-caloric flavoring on it, and it makes it passable. easy to use and no mess
This bowl uses no oil so it does a great job without the usual mess that comes with making popcorn. Want your salt to stick? Simply place popped corn in your own bowl, melt some butter and drizzle it on the corn before salting. Nice, fluffy popped kernels of corn. Love this bowl. I purchased this item to replace an old popper that had cracked and may not have been functioning well due to the cracks. This new popper left fewer kernals unpopped than the old one did. Works vey well
We have had one of these for many, many years and loved it. But it got stained over the years and looked really messy and so we decided to replace it. I thought a hot air popper might be a better choice so we bought one and tried it out. It seems to me that the hot air popper got the kernals to pop larger than they do in a microwave. However, the hot air poppers all require you to use a certain minimum amount of corn to pop. That amount is more than we care to eat.
