Before I start I must say there is NOTHING wrong or faulty with this pattern. It is what it is and it does exactly what it was made. The pattern itself is good and easy to follow. I make Halloween and anime costumes. I love it, it I my hobby. My son came up with an idea that he wanted to create anime accessories for the good smile anime figures to sell at conventions. kind of like Barbie accessories. but specific to each character and made to order. announcing to me this should be easy for you. Oh you want ME to do this......Never making doll clothes in my life I raised an eyebrow, drew in a breath and let out a heavy sigh. Then responded I will try. I am a VERY polished sewer. Back when I was 40ish, I entered a costume contest for a Lolita outfit. I won based on the intricate design and finishing. I swore I would never do it again. Everything I make I make to last a lifetime. I work with the best materials, easiest care and compatible products. Everything I make must have lining, trims, details and I always hide my mechanics. something that is impossible to do with doll clothes. This is perfectly acceptable in the doll clothes world as I had bought a boat load of doll clothes/accessories to take apart and use as instruction pieces. My first impression of them all was how poorly made they all were. After diving into the project I quickly discovered this is the best one could hope for and with that I came to the conclusion as far as patterns go. this one is near the top of the line. I discovered with this pattern and a few other like it. My hands don't work this way. I cannot get into the small stitch work on the machine and by hand it is worse than fine edge embroidery. HOWEVER. instructions are easy to follow and look perfectly acceptable once completed even though the rolled hems and exposed seems are something I cannot abide, but trying to employ lining in most cases is a exercise in .....stupidity. It bulks the pieces far too much making them useless for what they were designed. This is a great pattern to help increase your child's skills after they've done the typical hand sewing of sock puppets and the like. It will also be a great project to match a play area with the child's room. For me this isn't something I would feel comfortable with making again. but I have used the basic premise and knowledge of how to complete the techniques in this pattern as well as years of quilting experience and intricate needlepoint to create anime specific patterns. but that's as far as I will go. Doll clothes aren't for me.Read full review

I bought this pattern so as I could create a doll diorama to display my Pullip dolls. I was surprised at how easy the pattern is to follow and how many items of furniture you can make with it.
