The other reviewer who is confused about this product obviously is not familiar with Kennedy tool chests. The 50-year-old units I inherited from my father are exactly the same in every way as this new one. This model does not have ball bearing glides, like the bigger models, but friction slides are not a problem with a little extra lubrication. Kennedy does not put very much oil on these so that it doesn't migrate to other places on the item during transit and weaken the packaging. Also, sliding elements benefit from use, so they might work quite a bit easier in a few years when it's fully 'broken-in'. I'll be passing my Kennedy chests and cabinet down to my son someday, and by that time, he won't be able to tell the new ones from the old ones. Best value for the price, by far!

I have a vintage Kennedy Box which operates fine. On the new one the draw slides don't slide smoothly at all. The quality isn't the same.
