Willa Ford was hated by many for dating Backstreet Boy member Nick Carter. She started opening up for the Backstreet Boys, the fans didn't like her. Few years after Willa and Nick broke up, Willa let out an album. "I wanna be bad" was her first single off of "Willa Was Here." The song blew up, but still wasnt liked by many people. People said she used the famous Backstreet Boy for a deal and so forth. It made people not like her. But, the single "I wanna be bad" was on MTV's TRL for the longest time. It was played on radios everywhere. Willa was the "bad girl" of pop. She seemed a little fake. Although she wasnt liked as a person, her CD I think was an Average CD. It wasnt good but it wasnt bad. It sounds like on a lot of songs she was forcing herself to sing, but on others they sounded really good. If you like to take chances then buy this CD in hopes you'll like it.Read full review
I don't love her, I don't hate her-- I didn't react that much to her sound, the lyrics or music, the choices of the album. It was just middle of the road, no leaps of faith, no daring work, nothing that crashed and burned, no disaster in stereo work, and that confused me. Where was the polarization that I had heard about coming from? It appears the love/hate line is drawn by her, personally, not the music or performance, but by how people feel about her. That means I have no way of recommending or not recommending it. It isn't bad, it just isn't really good, either.
I like her honesty in her music...and I also like her careful blend of style that sets her apart from trashy rap music....she sings of real life issues that many women today can identify with. Even if you dont like the actually melody and rhythm....you have to appreciate the sincerity in her singing emotion and the truth of her words....in some of her songs, you can actually see the hurt and resentment she experiences when people compare her to other women or performers.
Meet Willa Ford. The bad girl of pop. This is her first cd and it has songs like "I Wanna Be Bad". Willa doesn't go through a change to reach the hot and sexy attitude like the other pop singers. She starts there. Not for the young ones.
A classic pop cd from my teenage years. A great cd to pop in and just enjoy the teenage memories. :)
