If you're a fan of any Psychopathic Records artists, you can never go wrong with Dark Lotus. And if you're new to them, Dark Lotus is a great place to start. As always, Dark Lotus showcases some of the best of the Psychopathic family. Included are Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope of ICP, Jamie Madrox and Monoxide of Twiztid, and solo artist Blaze Ya Dead Homie. As I'm determined not to play favorites,(although I DO have them), we'll just say they each have a unique style, and combined they are even better. Their third release, The Opaque Brotherhood, is in keeping with what we've come to expect from The Lotus. It is full of the contradictions we all have: it is funny, deep, sexy, raw, smooth, shocking; honest work unapologetically done. In a society where no one says what they mean anymore, and everyone stays in their little stereotyped boxes, this has great value. Putting that aside, musically and vocally this is just a great album to listen to. The rhythms and choruses are infectious, leaving you bobbing your head or singing under your breath for days.Read full review
