Love the actors in this movie, was fun to watch it again after many years. It also had Parent Trap II which I don't remember knowing there was such a movie and though it wasn't quite the calibre of the first Parent Trap, it was cute and the characters engaging.

Since I have not and probably will not watch the second film on the set (something about a sequel filmed 25 yrs later made directly for TV doesn't sit well). Here it goes, filmed in 1961 this is a timeless tale of two kids attempting to get their parents back together, from opposite ends of the country. What can be said about Hayley Mills (both of em). Total charmer as Sharon and Susan, who created distinct personalities for each of the girls but, and while Mills is the obvious standout, Brian Keith, the girls' father, Joanna Barnes, the step-monster to be, and Una Merkel as Keith's housekeeper add the perfect amount of sass in a picture almost completely stolen by Mills. Favorite sequence (a probably everyones) is still the camping scene where the girl(s) lay into their new step-mom..Read full review

Okay so this is a classic. Plus this DVD is a bonus as it has both the classic and part two with a modern movie. I saw this movie as a kid and have always loved it. Very funny, emotional, and touching. It's a great film and well written and is just a classic film with the same likes of Old Yeller which I'll review next. A must have for family classics and filled with fun, comedy, romance, and excitement . I recommend this for any fan of Disney family fun. Check it out!! : ) P.S. There is a bonus DVD that has behind the scenes material as well which is a treat.

The Parent Trap. This is the original movie that stars Hayley Mills as twins. In the original movie they explain so much more about the movie plot in the movie. You take the last Parent Trap movie made about ten years ago. There is a seen in it where the woman that is the wife to be is walking towards her tent to go to bed for the night and she is striking two sticks together to keep the mountain lions away. Well in the first movie you find out just how that joke came about to be played on her. The two girls are talking to each other and the wife to be over hears the girls say that because there are so many mountain lions around, a old Indian guide told one of the girls that by slapping two sticks together that would scare off any mountain lions. All through the first movie there are lots of little things like that, which in my way of thinking makes the first movie the better of them all.Read full review

This is a great set of movies starring Hayley Mills as a child actress playing duel roles and as an adult single mom. Great fun for the entire family to enjoy watching time and time again. Its great to see how twin sisters seperated by divorce met at camp and switched places with other to meet their other parent and would even make you cry to see what a divorce can really do to children. I bought this dvd set to replace my video cassettes and still enjoy watching them both.
Fun movie to watch for the whole family. Hayley Mills does an excellent job playing two parts as twins. Have always enjoyed this movie as a kid and adult. Also includes second movie when twins are adults also pretty good movie.

There are 2 movies in this collection. The first one is about 2 girls that go to the same camp and they end up finding out that they are identical twins. There parent were married a long time ago and when they divoice they each took a girl with them. One lived on the east coast and the other lived in the West coast.. They decided to switch places so they could see the other parent because they missed them. So when one of the girls went to dad's house for the first time she found out that her dad was going to get remarried. That was not going to work because they girls wanted to get their parent back together. That is the first one...The second movie is about the sister older. The daughter of one of the girls want her mom to marry her best friend single dad. They get the help with the aunt which is funny. I really enjoyed watching it with my kids. It tell you that if you sometimes things are easier to fix if you put your mind to it. I know that it not real but the girls loved it.Read full review
I had "The Parent Trap", but not "The Parent Trap 2". I wanted the set on DVD. I love Hayley Mills and her acting, both as a child and as an adult. I like the way she plays twins in both movies. I like how in the first movie, the twins fire up a scheme to get their parents back together, and the problems they face when someone else steps into the picture. In The Parent Trap 2, I like how a motherless child, (Mary), and Nikki who doesn't have a father in the picture, try so hard to get their parents together. I thought it was really funny how Susan pretends to be Sharon to get Sharon hooked up with Mary's dad, yet she was married too. I wouldn't have liked the movie if she was really cheating on her husband.
